Sophisticated Pasadena City Hall Engagement Session
/Daisy and Bryan’s Sophisticated Pasadena City Hall Engagement Session
The weather has been non-stop raining.. or at least it feels that way, pretty much wiping out our opportunities to photograph on the weekends.. Thankfully the rain held off during Daisy and Bryan’s sophisticated Pasadena City Hall engagement session and thank the maker it did! During our time there, we saw a model with a fabulous vintage car, 3 different wedding parties and 2 Quinceanera shoots. This location is always a favorite for photographers all year around because of the amazing architecture, ease of use and the gorgeous courtyard and fountain.. Imagine if we all tried to work under the cover of the arched hallways?!?! Thankfully, that didn’t happen and we were able to work around the others and get lost into our session, and even more so, Daisy and Brian were able to feel like they were the only two sweethearts there.. or at least it looks that way? 😊
Daisy and Bryan are both fans of baseball, so it worked out nicely that we started out in front of the Pasadena Robinson Memorial.. These two knocked their engagement session out of the park.. pun intended! lol Seriously, though.. how gorgeous are these two?
Daisy and Bryan shared a little of their love story with us.. keep reading!
Chance Encounter, Set Up or Swiped?: We’re High school sweethearts! We took classes together all through jr. high and high school. It wasn’t until the end of our senior year that we realized how much we liked spending time together. Our first real date was to eat fish tacos at Rubios and then to a baseball game - still our favorite hobbies ten years later!
The Big Proposal: We talked about getting married for years. I even got to help pick out my ring. On the day we were supposed to pick it up from the jeweler, he told me to wear something nice. We got the ring, but instead of heading back home he kept driving all the way to Los Angeles. At the Griffith Observatory, Bryan proposed, and as soon as the ring went on my finger some of our closest friends and family came out cheering - they had been watching the whole thing! We spent some time at the observatory and then headed down to Hollywood and Vine for celebratory drinks!!
How Long Has This Been Going On?: We had our first real date on May 17th, 2009 right before we graduated from high school. Our wedding date is May 18th, 2019. Almost ten years to the day!!
3 Things You 💙 About The Other:
Bryan: I love how smart she is, how funny she is, and how caring she is
Daisy: I love how driven he is, how considerate he is, and how he can always make me laugh.
Let's Go Shopping: I knew I wanted something blue to match the wedding colors. I just happened to stumble upon that dress at Burlington Coat Factory. The shoes were from Marshall’s. Bryan’s shirt was from Kohl’s and his tie and pants were most likely from Marshall’s - it’s my favorite place to shop :)
Location, Location, Location: Pasadena City Hall. We knew we wanted something with pretty architecture. Carrie suggested Pasadena City Hall and it was the best decision ever! It’s such a gorgeous building.
Feeling: Very nervous! Neither of us have had professional photos taken before like this! We were afraid we’d look awkward but Carrie and Sam quickly put us at ease. The shoot was so much fun and brought us closer than we expected it to - it’s been a while since we’ve shown any kind of PDA like that!
Advice: Listen to Carrie, she definitely know what she’s doing! Carrie has so many helpful tips and tricks for posing and placement. The poses might feel a little awkward at first but they result in some beautiful photographs!
There were so many amazing photos from this session.. Here’s a collage we shared on our Instagram story.. Be sure to visit our Instagram for more amazing images from this and all our sessions!
