Wedding Album Information

Your special day deserves a treasured heirloom… your wedding album! This memento tells your unique love story, one that you and your spouse can turn to time and time again to relive one of the most beautiful days of your life. Check out our tips below and let us help you create an album that you’ll treasure for a lifetime!

Tips On Selecting Images For Your Wedding Album

We can use the images in your Highlight Gallery or you can choose the images yourself. If you’ve decided to select all the images for your album, we ask you to limit your selection to 250 images. That may sound like a lot of images, but we have some tips to help you with this process!

1. Have fun with this...

Turn off the phones, put on some good tunes, grab a glass of wine, and enjoy reliving these special moments! Your online gallery is designed to help you with this process and will keep track of how many images you flag for your album.

2. Break the Day into Sections...

Your album will flow better if you have a balance of pictures from the different parts of your day. To help you to narrow it down to your key favorites from each part of the day, I would suggest choosing the following:

(Disclaimer: this list and the number of images are simply suggestions, please adjust to your preferences and see Step 3):

  • One or two venue shots to set the scene for the story

  • Five getting ready shots for each of you, plus up to five details (dress, shoes, cuff links, cologne, rings, flowers etc)

  • One wide shot of your ceremony site, plus one or two details

  • Three to five images of your first look with parent and/or spouse (if applicable)

  • One or two shots of you coming down the aisle, and your partner’s expression

  • Up to eight key shots of the marriage ceremony

  • One or two shots as you leave the ceremony

  • Up to six cocktail/bar/candid mingling shots

  • Up to eight wedding party group photographs

  • Up to eight family portraits photos

  • Eight to ten couple shots, including something epic that can be a double page spread

  • One full shot of your reception, plus three to five detail shots

  • One or two shots of your grand entrance

  • One or two photos of each of your speakers/toasts

  • One or two shots of the cake and one of the cake cutting

  • Two or three shots of the first dance

  • One or two photos of parent dances and other reception events (cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss, money dance, etc)

  • Eight to ten shots of the evening fun, dancing etc

  • One closing shot such as venue at night.

3. Include your Must-Haves, not your Should-Haves...

This is YOUR wedding album and it should hold your absolute favorite images from your day. Go with your heart, not with your head – include the photographs that you love.

4. Black and White or Color….

It's ok to mix black and white and color images on spread.. it's also ok to not do that. Again, its YOUR album.. we want you to love it!

5. Don’t forget the details…..

You may be tempted to ditch the detail shots to make room for other photos. Don’t do it! You can always add more spreads to your album. Detail shots are a great way to transition from the different parts of your day, set the overall tone of the album, and most of all, they beautifully marry artistry and storytelling together.. ‘marry’.. see what I did there? yep, I just went there!

Let’s move on to some other fun elements of your album to consider…
